Purpose
The purpose of ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) is to make voluntary radio communications services available to federal, state, county, local governments, Hospitals and non-profit organizations.
ARES is composed of licensed amateurs who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment for communications duty in public service or when disaster strikes. Amateurs are eligible for ARES regardless of whether or not they are members of ARRL or any other local or national organization. The only other qualification
